The Central Europe Cristal Awards had been created in 2006 with the objective to introduce a new and ambitious competition in all Central European countries. This come as the Central European version of the Méribel Ad Festival, which is held yearly in the French Alps. The winners receive the famous “Cristal”, the hallmark of the Méribel Ad Festival.

For the first edition, the jury had the opportunity to view 318 campaigns from 10 countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Slovakia and Ukraine). The Awards Ceremony was in Warsaw on 7 March 2007.
